He is the God of Greater

June 27th, 2025

Last August, we attended a creative retreat to discuss the vision and theme for 2025. As we partnered alongside the God-sized dreams of our leader, we together agreed that the theme for this year should be “Greater.” As we read through the Bible, we see God’s Greater purpose for humanity and His Greater character revealed to us. He calls us to Greater love, purpose, obedience, sacrifice, wisdom, faith, joy, maturity, humility, etc. There is nothing too great for God. He is greater than any hope, any dream, any doubt, any fear; and this year we have seen it.

With greater expectation comes greater miracles.

Testimonies:

9 first-time Bibles were given out in total this year. We have seen 9 people who have never had their own Bible leave with a Bible, some in their native tongue, for the first time.

The Rome Marathon: Our church hosted an evangelism-based event that not only brought the church together on a Sunday morning but also brought the church into the community. Many people travel to Rome for events, which made the Rome Marathon a perfect opportunity to spread God’s Love and share the Gospel with our community. We saw church members leave their comfort zone to talk about Jesus with people they had never met, and the testimonies we received were incredible. We ended the day with a service in a local park, where Pastor Stephen brought the Word.

Answered prayers: Every Wednesday, we have a service devoted to prayer. This year, we have celebrated answered prayers such as negative test results that previously came back positive, miraculous pregnancies, cancer miraculously disappearing, people receiving housing/job contracts to be able to stay in Rome, and so many more.

Life Change testimonies: Our church staff, and I (Kristi) personally, have received several letters from those who came to Rome for a short time, whether it was for an internship, schooling, or a job contract. These letters read of the impact that our church community had on their relationships with Jesus and how they were going to bring their new selves into their home countries to be shared with their communities.

New people coming almost every week because of their travels (Year of Jubilee): One thing that we’ve heard recently is: “international churches in Rome, which is such a big city, are so hard to find!” We are so thankful to be so strategically placed and that we can reach internationals who do not have a church family (due to language barriers).

Coming empty and leaving full: A young family visited our church amid their travels to Rome, and they shared that they came not expecting anything but left feeling full of joy and hope in the Lord.

Divine appointments with M!ddle Ea$terners: We have seen the Lord bring in people who have never heard the Gospel and never had a Bible. We were able to use some of our language and culture skills learned in Egypt to minister to these individuals. We have also had the opportunity to give out several first-time Bibles, including some in the Arabic language.

Quotes From New Believers:

  1. “I listen to my Bible on the way to work just to see why you all have the joy and love for God like you do, and I find myself not wanting to turn off my Bible when I get to work.”
  2. “I see the joy that you all have, and I desire to receive this joy as well.”

Ideas Become Reality:

  1. Marathon: empowering individuals to share their faith in their communities
  2. Worship night: devoting a time to worshipping the Lord together and setting an atmosphere for miracles
  3. Young adults: building a community of young world changers and encouraging one another through each stage of life.
  4. Love summit: An event that teaches about the never-ending love of God, and how to love others in a way that reflects Christ
  5. Inspire: A movement throughout Europe that teaches women and girls how to make sharing their faith normal and promotes community among the women of Europe.
  6. Church Picnic: fun and fellowship out in the community that allows us to witness and build friendships.
  7. Kids Camp (this upcoming week): Teaching kids how to love and follow Jesus

What Are We Up To?

⁃ Stephen is leading our Wednesday night prayer services and life groups. He is also on the preaching rotation, using his talents to help with finance, helping lead young adults, and filling in the gaps as needed.
⁃ Kristi is helping with event coordination, worship leading, helping lead young adults, mothering, and filling in the gaps as needed.

Even though last year was amazing, we are expecting a greater year this year.

‘The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘And in this place I will grant peace,’ declares the Lord Almighty.”

Haggai 2:9 NIV

Prayer Requests:

⁃ Pregnancy and the change of season for Kristi
⁃ The busy season produces fruit
⁃ Our events coming up
⁃ Reach our community
⁃ Strength, endurance, and joy
⁃ Health
⁃ We would continue to be a light

Thank you all for your dedication to the ministry here in Rome. Without your prayers and support, we would not be able to do what we have been doing and see the testimonies we’ve been seeing. We are so grateful for the opportunity to be here and work in a place that doesn’t have access to the gospel like we do in America. Together we can touch one, touch Italy, and reach nations.

If you have any questions or you want to hear more about the ministry and how you can be more involved, please reach out to us! We’d love to hear from you and connect!
